Got my invite to beta test the new Surf Social app yesterday. Installed it on my iPhone (3rd gen. SE) and have been playing around with it today. Creating your own custom feeds is pretty easy, because the search function groups results into useful categories, e.g. "podcasts" or "YouTube", etc. Look and feel good and no glitches so far. It's a good way to aggregate feeds from different sources. Learned about it on #TWiT Intelligent Machines podcast #818.

Got accepted for a program to credential high school teachers to teach college classes (#Ohio's #CollegeCreditPlus program). Doing the paperwork stuff now - so much fun.

I'm an #ESOL teacher. I'll be taking classes to get credentialed to teach college-level #CyberSecurity. Have to take 4 or 5 graduate-level classes. Might have to do a pre-req or two.

Luckily, I've been listening to #TWiT and #SecurityNow for over 10 years at this point (maybe closer to 15?), so I feel pretty well prepared.

What kind of twit and his advisers would impose tariffs on a bunch of penguins, even if it’s etymologically appropriate? The word penguin, originally applied to the similar looking and now extinct great auk, seems to come from Welsh pen gwyn “white head” from pen “head, headland” + gwyn “white”, which itself can be traced back to Proto-Indo-European *wi-n-d-o-, the suffixed nasalized zero-grade form of the root *weid- “to see”. The form *wid-e- of this root also came into Latin as videre “to see, look” with the past participle visum, which with the addition of the prefix a- led to Old French avis “opinion” and aviser “to deliberate, reflect, consider”, borrowed into English in the late 13th c. in the sense “to view, consider” and developing the current sense of advise “to give counsel to” in the late 14th c., with the agent noun form adviser appearing in the 1610s. This same PIE root also passed into Proto-Germanic as *witanan “to look after, guard, ascribe to, reproach”, which became Old English witan “to blame”, producing the prefixed form ætwitan “to blame, reproach”, which was eventually shortened to twit, both as a verb meaning “to blame, reproach, taunt, upbraid” and as a noun meaning “foolish, stupid and ineffectual person”.

@leo Decompiling a VB4 "EXE" is not the flex they want you to think it is. VB4 compiled to pcode. The AI is likely drawing on widely available decompilers. I mean, it's useful to translate from one programming language to another, which is what it is really doing here, but trying to obfuscate that behind saying it "reverse engineered" an EXE is disingenuous at best.
