@enobacon I had to give up on waiting for my #METL tyres and get some #TannusAirless tyres. Are they the best ride? No, but they're better overall than the #Kenda puncture resistant tyres I had been using.
Just patched the tube on the back wheel of mom's bike last weekend, so I know where these #TannusAirless are going next!
Things I do not have to do before a long distance ride:
- Make sure my bike chain is lubed
- Make sure my bike chain is clean
- Check my tyre pressure
- Carry a tube, sealant, or pump

Just had my first ride on #TannusAirless tyres....very staccato/jagged, but I actually felt like I went faster...something lovely about having no play in the tyre...like the pedal was connected directly to the tarmac. It was funny too - I briefly swerved to avoid some glass!
Top speed: 43.6 kph
Average speed: 15.3 kph
Managed 8.8 of the 100km break-in period - I'll give more info then.
