Tatsumi Daimyōjin (辰巳大明神), festooned with sakura.

A mischievous tanuki once delighted in hiding beneath the nearby bridge to scare unsuspecting maiko and geisha as they passed by. He was later enshrined here (to calm his still restless spirit).

Tatsumi Daimyojin illuminated for sakura season. The small shrine was originally founded to protect the south east corner of the imperial palace, but was later moved.
