A House to Inhabit (2002) by Terike Haapoja is one of my very favourite artworks ever, and I was so happy to have a version of it in Thesmallest Vallila festival. In a model scale, of course: A Doll House to Inhabit.

It was a memory lane in another way as well, since I did some soldering for the lamps. It's been a while!

Terike Haapoja is possibly the most known artist of Thesmallest Vallila festival. Here's a rare non-light art photo posting from her summer 2025 exhibition Labor Movement for All Animals.

Terike Haapoja's A House to Inhabit (2002) is a classic of light art, the memory of which still evokes strong emotional reactions in people who have seen it.

Since everything is small at Thesmallest Vallila festival, we will be showing a small and updated version of the work. The name is, of course, A Doll House to Inhabit.

The image shows the shadows of the removed houseplant and rattan chair painted on the walls. One light bulb hangs lower than normal in the room.

Terike Haapojan Talo jota asutat (2002) on valotaiteen klassikkoteos, jonka muistelu vieläkin herättää vahvoja tunnereaktioita sen nähneissä ihmisissä.

Koska Thesmallest Vallila -festivaalilla kaikki on pientä, nähdään teoksesta pieni ja päivitetty versio. Nimi on, tietenkin, Nukketalo jota asutat.
