Did some tetrad dissection of fission yeast (S. pombe) spores on Friday 😊
Today, they are showing pretty colonies 🥳

Tetrad = four spores produced after yeast meiosis

S. Pombe tetrads from the parental asci are order aligned and have formed colonies on agar growth medium in a petri dish. There are some missing colonies when spores are not viable to grow and proliferate.
