Signs.

We were coming out of the grocery store parking lot when Mrs. Miasma saw them.

A thin line of protestors sprinkled along the sidewalk across from some federal agency offices.

Protest signs read "I WANT public education!" and "Save our national forests"

I counted about thirty people. I thought about pulling over to take their picture, but then I realized that would be the wrong thing to do these days. Instead we waved and gave them thumbs-up.

Not sure if I overheard correctly, but earlier today I think coffee shop guy (with irritation in his voice) mentioned the rising cost of fuel / heating.

Meanwhile it's December in the UK and the door to said coffee shop is permanently open.
