Yes, the 8 bit computers did get a game featuring everybody's favourite blue steam train. 😅
Basically, Sir Topham Hat gives Thomas a number of tasks to complete, which involve finding rolling stock & delivering itto the station at the end of each map.
But it's not quite that simple. You have to avoid other engines, boulders on the line and even gently push fallen trees out of your way.
