At what point will the weight of evidence of foreign powers’ compromat against Trump and others ( not just in the US), bring people to the realisation that elected politicians are no longer to be trusted to serve their country. The influence of Israel, Russia and others is in plain sight and the results of elections must be called into question. There needs to be a reset and anyone with even a whiff of doubt as to their independence of foreign powers disqualified from standing.

It’s irrational and pointless I know but I can’t help feeling angry with US for making it possible for someone like Trump, with a criminal record and a long history of proven dishonesty, to stand for President in the first place; and anger with the people who voted for him to be President for a second term, even after he’d been impeached, twice, during his first.
I also feel anger at those in this country who still support Reform when Farage and his “Party” are know to have links to Bannon, Trump, Putin and others. Are they blind? Don’t they remember the lies and illegality that preceded Brexit?
We owe it to the electorate, if we’re going to vote, to do some basic homework.

Scrolling through media these days there are endless England and Union flags with comments like “to the death“. I find this very worrying. If Reform and their ilk keep fanning the flames we know where it can end.
Flags are intended to be symbols of unity, but are increasingly being weaponised by those who want to divide us.
This spate of flag worship is very unhealthy; far from promoting our country and its people it’s being used to divide us and to scapegoat those new to our shores for political gain.
I’m very proud of our country for its kindness, decency and inclusiveness
I’m proud to see our flags flying to celebrate that and all the remarkable people in our community and throughout the country.

Driving round out town yesterday the white circles at mini-roundabouts had all been painted with the Cross of St George. Now someone has added “f[**]k racists” , a sentiment I agree with but not the act or the act of daubing graffiti on our highways. Farage is desperate to cause civil unrest at a time of the year when riots are most prone to happen. And BBC and other media continue to give him a disproportionate amount of airtime; not to mention GB News, which isn’t a news channel at all but a propaganda outlet for extreme right Wing fantasists.
Johnson through his behaviour encouraged liars to lie - same now with Trump - Farage and his ilk encourage racists to to be racist.

Patriotism is about supporting each other, not attacking somebody else, especially vulnerable people fleeing oppression, or conflicts (many of which we in UK have helped bring about).
Patriotism is about loving your country enough to make it a place where no one is homeless, or hungry, held back, or left behind.
Patriotism doesn’t wave flags.
Patriotism addresses underlying causes, instead of looking for easy ‘solutions’ designed to cause division.
Patriotism doesn’t look for scapegoats.
Patriotism takes responsibility.
Patriotism is colour blind.
Patriotism isn’t self-serving.
Patriotism recognises we are part of a wider world, our actions have consequences for us and others, and may rebound on us. Our country is safest, and most likely to prosper, when we operate responsibly as part of the global community.

The main reason Reform and others get attention is because successive Governments, over decades - particularly the last 14 years of Tory administrations - have failed us on housing, hollowed out our public services, neglected our infrastructure, and plundered the economy so badly we don’t have the capacity to admit the very immigrants who could help get us out of this mess. Be angry with those Governments. Our birth rate is falling and we need immigration - but of course if we make it all about boats no one will see that. They don’t want to solve the problem; they depend on it.
Might it be our Imperialist past, Iraq and Afghanistan, & support of genocide in Gaza have a bearing on the numbers heading for our shores?
