I manage social media for my daughter’s partner’s businesses. It’s part time, ad hoc and unpaid. Birdsite, Instagram, LinkedIn.

I binned my personal birdsite account last year.

I kept the app on my phone so I could manage the other two accounts.

No more. The toxic comments appearing on the supposed “For you” timeline especially in the aftermath of another school shooting in the US have done it for me.

I’ve deleted the app.

Everyone seems to be an “expert” on things they know nothing about on there 😂 like there are some who proclaim themselves to be #mentalhealth advocates and then turn around and bully and belittle people who reach out to them for support, without a shred of kindness or understanding granted. I use #Trusky it has a separate tab that enables hashtag follows/searches to view. Indispensable. I've got #covid hashtag & brings back stuff daily that's also on #toxictwitter
