#TulipComputers

Today at the #HomeComputerMuseum repair department, a big minicomputer-like thing from the early 80s. Made by Compudata, a Dutch company that would later rename itself to Tulip Computers. We haven't really been able to find anything about what it is, despite having the faceplate with a name on it.

Also, with it came a big chonk of a hard drive, capacity not known. The hard drive seemed to include controller hardware, and consisted of a whopping FOUR separate PCBs stacked on top of each other. Thankfully the top two could be tilted upwards. The hard drive has some electrical issues so we're not sure if it still works.

Not shown are an equally large second computer case, containing two 8-inch floppy drives.

A large metal computer case, about 50 cm wide, with the cover off. The box is divided into two halves. On the left is an exposed power supply, with an 8 inch tape drive mounted below it. On the right are the two motherboards, one hidden below the other. Below the motherboards are a large open space to fit the hard drive. The face plate of the computer case, which says "CD-MULTINET 2000".The hard drive unit from the computer. It is an 8 inch model like the tape drive. Two of the PCBs are folded upwards, the remaining two are still attached to the drive. A large hub for the drive mechanism is also visible, as well as the brake pad that holds the platters still while the drive is turned off.A sticker on the hard drive showing the information about the drive.
