Was?

Warum?

#Blinde Menschen nutzen #Screenreader.

@BlindQuilter
Very welcome.

I do it all the time, but make one slightly amendment to (:)
When a includes an abbreviations, such as "US," I continue with a small letter e.g. in as makes you wonder if the tag isn't about USPs (Unique Selling Propositions.)--
Does this work for you, too?

@AlwaysAutumn I think hashtags are case-insensitive, so tapping on the icky lowercase also shows you posts that have the properly capitalized one.

@jond Any specific reason for #UpperCamelCase rather than #lowerCamelCase ? Do screen readers trip up on the second one?

It's just that if single-word hashtags are done in all lower case then lower camel case feels more consistent.

@jond #PascalCase and #UpperCamelCase to the rescue!

This isn't a complaint because it's actually a good thing that accessibility is valued, emphasized and re-emphasized around here, but I think I've seen a reminder to use #UpperCamelCase hashtags about 30 times now. I do realize I'm making it 31 with this post.

I just wish I had the secret of WHAT to hashtag because I often remember them am like, nah nothing makes sense here.

@jasonpettus I have been musing on this. No. Having a strong preference between upper camel case or lower camel case does not make you "too much of a nerd."

It makes you the EXACTLY RIGHT amount of nerd.

That said, I myself incline toward upper camel case, perhaps because I taught Pascal for many years.

@Dianora @northcountryjoe

In hashtags, please capitalise the initial letters of words (sometimes called UpperCamelCase) so that screen readers can interpret hashtags correctly, e.g.

Screen readers can interpret…

#UpperCamelCase

But cannot interpret…

#uppercamelcase

Thank you 🙏

Please remember to #CapitalizeYourHashtags by using #camelCase or #UpperCamelCase, so that screen readers can separate them into words. You can find this and more tips here: accessible360.com/accessible36 #accessibility

The of @eishiya brought up a good question about it. Poll: Which one is your ? ( aka , ) OR ( aka , )? Whoa, there are more than I thought! Check them out at en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camel_

@azzageddi @Curator yep! its a term often used in programming, may also be called #PascalCase when referring to
#UpperCamelCase vs #lowerCamelCase I suspect both work with readers.

@lydiaconwell when should you use #UpperCamelCase or #camelCase?
it seems like hashtags are case insensitive and i assume either one works just as well for screen readers but style is substance after all
