Switching over to the latest #StarfieldBeta now

Aside: somehow by the end of the #VanguardFaction questline on my #Scarfield playthrough I managed to be so OP I was running around the wilds of Toliman II gun-bashing terrormorphs, other random xenos, and pirates to death, mostly one-hit kills—yes, even the two obnoxious avian-analogues. The Crimson Fleet I ran into at a POI were well above my player level, too, 3x on average, and oh sure they at least put up a fight and kept lighting me on fire, yet I barely took any damage. So clearly I need a new level of challenge, blowing up #Starfield itself over and over by testing mods on the beta release. This should prove to be a true living nightmare.

And damn did she ever make that Siren her bitch; the thing fuckin’ whimpered!—y’know, ever so briefly, before the sound of its skull collapsing echoed over the hills of Niira louder than the roaring thunder and sizzling downpour of acid rain.

(Really gotta hand it to the audio engineers, that was GROTESQUE and so bloody visceral; it could easily have become overdone, ghoullish, and a bit campy, but nope, they hit the nail on the head)

Weirdly, Universe Nine’s Tau Ceti terrormorph ignored Andreja and I completely, making a bee-line for Hadrian, forcing me to draw it out of the control room (which it did) and try to lure it into a kill lane (which it was having none of), so in the end I had to engage it directly anyway, but since it decided to be clever I beat it to death with the butt-end of my particle beam rifle, Manifest Destiny Mk.4.

(Boy, there are so many layers to that and yet they all say the same bloody thing)

After stepping out for a doubleshot energy drink (in meatspace), I went back to the piloting exam (in gamespace) and immediately brutalized all 5 tier six opponents before they even had the chance to taunt me, for which I was told TWICE by Sarah how incredibly proud I should be, and awarded the shortest service period for citizenship with a whopping 56k credits advance “for utilizing all the tools at my disposal”

Damn that was some serious PTSD-Rage piloting. Took out all six tiers in record time, no restarts, no cheating—as in, I used the Debug Tools like I was supposed to for the resourcefulness score, but didn’t hack the terminal.

Even managed to keep my ally ship from the debug tools in the fight until the very end of Tier 6—I think it was the second-last enemy ship that splashed them.

Made a beeline for Vanguard registration so I have access to the best value ship components and terrormorph hunting as early in this playthrough as possible

And just as I defeat the final Tier 6 enemy ship in the simulator, playing at max difficulty BTW, the game crashes on me

SO NOW I HAVE TO DO THE WHOLE DAMN PILOTING EXAM ALL OVER AGAIN BECAUSE THE SAVED GAME DOESN’T RECOGNIZE THE IN-SIMULATOR SAVE POINTS FAAAAACCCK
