Cancelled my #ViaPlay account. Back to choppy pirated streams it is. I hate that, but I can't accept these levels of #enshittification

#ViaPlay is falling off a cliff these days. Yesterday, the United - Chelsea stream first freezed for a few minutes, then they went to the halftime break while the match was still being played..

But today they actually shot themselves in the foot; they forgot to enable the sound of the ads in the ad break during F1, so the race audio was still playing 🤣 (of course they 'made up' for that by adding another ad break quickly after that)

I think I may well cancel my ViaPlay sub sometime soon, it's just became too bad. Especially selling some Premier League games to Amazon, like wtf am I even paying them for at that point.

Hate to go back to choppy, pirated streams, but what's the alternative?

So I discovered why Man City - Tottenham wasn't on Viaplay. They are now selling the rights to each Saturday morning game to Amazon Prime.

So:
- Viaplay subscription price went sharply up
- They added advertisements
- And I can't even watch every PL game anymore.

I really enjoyed following the Premier League, but this is going to be the last season for me, then I stop my Viaplay subscription.

I'm so annoyed with this late-stage capitalist landscape. Can't even watch soccer anymore as a hobby. Back to choppy pirate streams it is next year, UGH.

So, #ViaPlay was missing the #PremierLeague game Man City - Tottenham, it just wasn't anywhere to be found.

So I sent a mail to info@viaplay.nl, which worked previously, but it got rejected (550 5.4.1 Recipient address rejected: Access denied)

There's no customer service on the site either, only a "frequently asked questions" function.

So basically, they increased prices, added advertisements, and then forgot to actually stream a game.

Please #ViaPlay, can you go bankrupt ASAP. And take this whole capitalist hellscape down with you.
