Sadly the #Heavitree and #Whipton #LTN trial has been cancelled - although there was a small increase in traffic on boundary roads, it achieved its aim of reducing overall traffic volume, improving air quality, increasing the number of walking and cycling journeys and had no negative impact on emergency service response times. Ladysmith Road outside the school gates during the trial. There is a man carrying a child's bike and walking with a toddler wearing a helmet on the pavement, and two cyclists on the street which is othewise free of trafficLadysmith Road before the trial, the situation we are presumably going back to. The street is clogged on both sides with parked cars, which leaves space for a single line of traffic down the middle. cars and vans are queued in both directions, and a solitary cyclist is indicating to try and turn through them.
