Perhaps the only example of a hyphenated Grate-ful Dead on rec? Certainly, the only time this title morphed into "The" Working-man's Dead.

Photo of the original 1970 UK 8-track cartridge edition of The Grateful Dead's "Workingman's Dead" album. The band name has been hyphenated (The Grate-ful Dead); the album title has an added definite article and hyphen, making it "The Working-man's Dead".

NOTE: This is an example of how live Dead can be way superior to album recordings (). This slowed-down version is so gorgeous! It gives Jerry time to stretch out for great effect.

@bourgwick I finally started listening to the Good Ol’ Grateful Deadcast (from the beginning), and the discussion of “Workingman’s Dead” reminded me of how I came across a reference to the album in Denise Levertov’s poem “Staying Alive”. I wrote about it here: andrewjshields.blogspot.com/20
