Since 1 February 2021 coup 6,589 people have been killed & 29,094 people arrested by the junta’s seizure of power. 22,187 are in detention, 10,789 are serving sentences.

April 1 to 30, 2025, the junta killed (96) people in total; (48) women and (48) men, across the country, including (21) children under the age of 18.

The briefing presents verified arrest and killing lists of pro-democracy activists and civilians which have been perpetrated by the junta and its affiliates during the Spring Revolution as of today since 2021 coup. 

In addition to the verified arrest and fatality figures, AAPP has separately documented arrested and deceased persons whose identities and identifiable data still need to be verified.

In prisons across the country, the junta is deliberately neglecting the needs of inmates in various facets, failing to provide adequate food, access to clean water, healthcare, and other basic necessities. As a result, political prisoners enduring these harsh conditions are suffering to the point where their lives are at risk. 

According to the data collected by the AAPP, from the military coup on February 1, 2021 to October 7, 2024, a total of (103) people have been identified as having died while in detention due to various causes at the hands of the junta forces and their affiliates. This includes (63) people who died as a result of insufficient medical treatment in prison. 

Dr. Zaw Myint Aung, the Chief Minister of Mandalay, was arrested by junta forces on February 1, 2021 … AAPP Day 1345 : 7 october Updated 7 October 2024 . 

AAPP will continue to provide updates on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences, and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offences.
