I went for a walk on #Crosby beach yesterday with Liverpool #Humanists. I had several interesting conversations with a lovely bunch of people as we strolled South down the coast.

One of the party, new to the area, had never seen the Iron Men before. 😀

Crosby Beach on a still, grey December lunchtime. It's a colour photo but everything is in monochrome.

The blue-grey cloudy sky fades into the still grey sea which becomes slightly darker as it gets shallower and meets the pinkish-grey sand. There are a couple of lighter bands of wet sat running parallel to the waterline. Silhouettes appear to be floating objects placed on this background.

Offshore, to the left, where the darkening of the water almost looks like an horizon, a set of storm cones stand alone. They hang from a pole sitting on an odd tripod affair. A cormorant sits on one of the cones.

On the waterline, on the right, stands one of Anthony Gormley's "Another Place" figures, a life-size iron man embedded in the sand. A carrion crow sits on its head and another sits on its shoulder.

In the bottom left-hand corner, walking out of the picture, are two more carrion crows.

Been to see #AnotherPlace which was just wonderful, what an eerie and beautiful thing.
