I went for a walk on #Crosby beach yesterday with Liverpool #Humanists. I had several interesting conversations with a lovely bunch of people as we strolled South down the coast.

One of the party, new to the area, had never seen the Iron Men before. 😀

#AnotherPlace

One of Antony Gormley's Another Place iron men on a sandy beach. It's a life size cast iron man looking out across the sand to the sea. This one has sand nearly up to the top of its legs.
The sky has a cover of thick cloud but with patches of blue.
In the distance are dockyard cranes.

sometimes you walk down the street and you see the most wonderful things.

I did notice the crows were quite vocal in this town - they might be on to something.

A sign in a shop window says “Attention! please do not feed the magpies. With every hire of Bánh Mì they grow stronger and feistier. They keep breaking into the store & are getting harder to chase out. I don’t want to have to live through Alfred Hitchcock’s Bird movie if at all possible. Thank you for doing your part to prevent the birdemic.” Finally, there’s a bird circled with a line through it.

Maybe it's just me, but then again, maybe posts promoting your literature blog should come with an attempt at punctuation and capital letters.

Christmas morning on the beach. Not quite the same as the Australian beach images.

Todays image was taken in 2005 on an old 6m pixel camera so don’t expect too much.
It was a visit to #AnthonyGormley installation #AnotherPlace at #Crosby beach #Merseyside
The figures in the sea are the giant statues

An sunset view of Anthony Gormley’s art installation “Another Place” on Crosby Beach, Merseyside, showing a very orange sunset over the beach, with the giant statues standing in the sea some distance away. There is a group of admirers silhouetted in the foreground on the edge of pools of water left by the receding tide

It’s good to see some people I know from starting to join various Mastodon servers now. It’s probably about time that I started to make more use of this myself (it felt a little bit like telling a monologue to a rather empty theatre up until now). ☺️

Another Place, and art installation on Crosby Beach featuring life size metal figures looking out to sea, this shows one figure beneath a blue sky with the sea on the horizonA closer front view of one of the figures in Another Place, the metal figure is a body cast of the artist and is covered in seaweed and barnaclesThe face of one of the figures in Another Place, it is green with seaweed and crusted with barnacles.
