A long wide marble staircase leads up to an enormous alcove with a small pair of doors. A transom above the pair of doors shows a large chandelier in the room behind.

A Ruth Asawa wire sculpture, suspended in the air against contrasting walls. The sculpture has a dark color and a complex, bulbous shape that resembles a plant or an animal. The wire material allows light to pass through the sculptures, creating intricate shadows on the walls behind it. The walls also contrast with each other, as the right one has a rough, stone texture and the left one has a smooth, white surface. An electrical outlet on the left wall adds a touch of ยซje ne sais quoiยป.Two people standing in front of a large artwork on a white wall in an art gallery. The artwork is made of two glass-encased panels that contain large detailed illustrations of nature scenes. The illustrations include plants and animals in black and white. I just got back from the in SF. It's well worth checking out regardless, but they have a Takashi Murakami exhibition until February 12th. Murakami does interesting stuff that explores Japanese pop culture and its implications.

Long gallery wall at The Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, covered in brightly-colored cartoon daisies popularized by Takashi Murakami. A red neon sign in block letters runs the length of the wall, "Weirdly Lovable, Lovably Weird". Sunlight illuminates the wall from exterior windows. The person holds a swinging beam in the shape of a fish, and seems in the motion of striking the bell.Freestanding sign encouraging visitors to advertise the exhibit on social media. It reads in red block letters, "Be Like Murakami! Pose for a photo and share". Next in black it reads, "#MurakamiMonsterized @asianartmuseum"

The sign has a white background with a handful of rainbow-colored daisies and stars. The main focus is an AI-generated cartoon representation of Takashi Murakami, shown smiling with both hands raised at the elbow and waving. The person wears a white shirt with blue sleeves, with a mouse-like cartoon character holding a cartoon daisy flower, with a lightning-bolt tail. The person has a mouth full of pointed, rainbow-colored teeth, rainbow-colored hair pulled back into a ponytail, blue-green eyes, and large round glasses.

Text at bottom describes the process in the steps connected by arrows: 1, at left) "The Original Photo" (photo of Takashi Murakami in similar pose).

2 at center) "The illustration was generated using the Lora model of Murakami's self-portrait in an AI called stable diffusion" (pencil sketch showing various facial expressions with arrows pointing to composite body sketch)
