The local #BCForestry research centre is only a few minutes from our home. Apparently they had a plant sale recently. My youngest brother told me they were selling daphne seedlings. DA FUQ! Daphne is super #invasive & many of us longtime nature stewards & guardians have been trying to remove it from local forests, parks & public greenspaces for over 2 decades! Yet, our shit #BCgovernment thinks it's OK to sell them to unaware public?!? I'll post pic of a daphne #plants they tried selling soon.

Mosaic’s (formerly Island Timberlands and Timberwest) recent logging adjacent to the cemetery and Hole in the Wall shows in the worst way that it respects the dead as much as it respects streams, watersheds, public access and amenities, wildfire risk, and wildlife habitat.

Saw a 'young’ #oldgrowth (80+ yrs?) or old second growth Douglas Fir on the drive today. This logging truck appears to be holding the entire tree. The bottom of the tree is the dark log on the top left. Resolution isn’t high enough to see the rings.

I admit I have a hard time with all of it these days. Mostly because I know none of the management is anywhere near sustainable or responsible from an ecosystem perspective.
