Botober drawing dump: Days 24-31
ga2so.com/blog/wp-content/uplo

Quality Art Month has ended.

I really struggled to stay motivated to finish this project, so the drawings are even worse than usual, but they are DONE. There’s at least one idea in here that I thought was funny.

I’m glad I did this, but I think I’ll skip it next year.

Tried something different this year. I drew the outlines in Procreate but then switched to Pigment to colour them in. Fewer options there but much quicker overall.

Here are the outlines…

A collage of playful, black-and-white illustrated cards featuring various whimsical characters and objects. Each card includes a playful title and depicts food items, kitchen utensils, or humorous cartoon figures, showcasing a variety of imaginative designs.

Oops. Another slight misread of the prompt. I thought it was a teaspoon flub and only discovered it was a flup when I went to enter the prompt. A prompt flub even.

A purple character with the number 16 on its chest is running, looking back at an orange character dropping a spoon. The scene has a colorful, abstract background and the caption reads "@CTD #281 1 TEASPOON FLUP."

5 nights left! Tonight I used the #botober #botober2025 prompt from the 23rd, "rub the bog". It sounded like something a group would chant, so I tried to come up with a context in which that "made sense".

A simple, hand-drawn comic strip in four rows. The first row shows a sunny scene in a bog or marsh with a wooden platform and stick figures standing on it, surrounded by tall grasses and water.

The second row has two panels:

Left panel: One stick figure, an adult, stands on the platform addressing a smaller stick figure, a child. Text reads: "Today, my son, you become a man."

Right panel: The crowd of stick figures on the platform cheers. Text reads: "Rub the bog! Rub the bog!"

The third row has two panels:

Left panel: The child stick figure is face-down in the water and mud near the platform, with only their legs and torso visible. Text reads: "(rubbing)"

Right panel: The child stick figure is back on the platform, standing upright and cheering. Text reads: "I did it!"

The fourth row shows a crowd of stick figures cheering, with the text "Hooray!" above them, celebrating the child's achievement of rubbing the bog.

Drawing 22, 9 left! Looking for a prompt that inspired me, I revisited "1/4 can cool soup" from day 10 of #botober #botober2025 I checked what other folks had drawn for it. I'd had largely the same idea as them. Then I found another way to parse the prompt.

A comic titled "1/4 CAN COOL SOUP". Row 1: Panel 1: Four stick figures with different shaped heads, one a square, one a triangle, one a circle, and one a hexagon, stand in a group, all smiling. Panel 2: Titled "1." Shows the square-headed stick figure blowing on a bowl of hot soup being held out by another stick figure. Panel 3: Titled "Still hot" showing a close up of the bowl of soup still steaming. Row 2: Panel 1: Titled "2." Shows the triangle-headed stick figure blowing on a bowl of hot soup being held out by another stick figure. Panel 2: Titled "Still hot" showing a close up of the bowl of soup still steaming. Row 3: Panel 1: Titled "3." Shows the hexagon-headed stick figure blowing very hard on a bowl of hot soup being held out by another stick figure. Panel 2: Titled "Still hot" showing a close up of the bowl of soup still steaming. Row 4: Panel 1: Titled "4." Shows the circle-headed stick figure blowing super hard on a bowl of hot soup being held out by another stick figure. Panel 2: Titled "Cool!" showing a close up of the bowl of soup no longer steaming hot.
