I'm guessing, though I'd have to do more research to verify it, that Adobe's revenue rocketed when it moved to the cloud model.
I used to LOVE their products. I used Photoshop and Premier - they were solid, feature-rich applications. I used them for fun though - not for money. When they moved to cloud subscription-based offerings, I was out.
Their new terms of service are their next step of corporate fuckary. The underlying story here is that AI needs your content to build content and Adobe needs to access it. I mean, if they didn't "ask" your permission it would go against their ethical guidelines right?
Lucky for us, we don't need their products. There are other options (I've used) for Photoshop (Gimp and Krita), for Illustrator (Inkscape), and for Premier (DaVinci Resolve).
