Excellent piece from The Forward debunking several of the primary myths and conspiracy theories about the campus demonstrations, including #SaharTartak 's claim that she was "stabbed" in the eye for "being Jewish". (She wasn't.) #Gaza #ColumbiaProtests

In the spring of 1985, we had an Apartheid protest and occupied a building. Those of us inside were advised we would be arrested if we didn’t’t leave. We were told to walk out with the cops when arrested or go limp and they would carry us out. When the cops arrived they were in regular plain cop uniforms. We were taken to school buses and transported to a local school and given notices to appear. Why do the schools and cops feel the need to escalate. #Columbia #ColumbiaProtests #GazaProtests

Over 100 pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested at Columbia University as police cleared a campus encampment authorized by President Nemat Minouche Shafik amid ongoing tensions over Israel's actions in Gaza.

The move follows recent criticisms of Shafik at a House antisemitism hearing.
