#disproportionality

The London Policing Board was created in response to the Casey recommendations, which followed a series of scandals rooted in long-running cultural and performance issues within the Met.

Personally, I find this response from Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley about disproportionality truly lamentable. He still does not understand it and cannot figure out what exactly the police need to do better or whether its outside of their control!

I'm convinced that this sort of leadership cascades downwards and ultimately leads to the current EIGHT time disproportionality in the use of stop & search in Gloucestershire (Sept 2024 - Feb 2025), for example.

I'd really like to understand how Chris Nelson, Gloucestershire OPCC and the Constabulary will demonstrate far better leadership on this systemic issue.

#MET #Police #Disproportionality

Found on Reddit and thought would be of interest to #policing research folks.... Uber will warn drivers who repeatedly cancel journeys to poorer/more heavily minority neighbourhoods. Interesting approach to impact of individual incentives on #disproportionality and institutional racism.

The situation in #Gaza is incredibly #dramatic especially for the #civilians including #children and #babies whose #lives are in #danger The #government of #Israel #particularly the #leadership of #netanyahu should urgently #reflect on their #actions The unreflective #disproportionality of their #actions is unsustainable, and their deeds will not go #unnoticed
