long shot, but do I know anyone who has a spare set of watch band pins for the #casio #f84w ? (or #f91w , etc) (18mm band, non-spring push through pin with a little groove at one end)

I can just order a set, but it seems ridiculously expensive.

also, digital watch modding folks, what kind of paint do you use for the inside of the crystal? and is there data on different backlight mods people have tried?

Ok, yes I do already own a #Casio #F84W and those of you who follow me closely know I recently spent some time polishing out all the scratches and modding the backlight.

So why another? Well… I wanted a backup for this one as this is my favourite of all the Casios.

As an added bonus it may make up for the sin of buying a Skmei Casio clone recently, so I am not thrown out of the #CasioCult 🤪

That #Casio light spreader mod is insanely cool. However it is really hard to capture how it looks to the naked eye with the camera on my phone since that is overly sensitive to light. Here is a photo in a fairly light room that gives you some idea. The main thing is that the light is spread surprisingly evenly.

Financially it might not be worth it when you could buy another Casio with better lighting built in. And yet, it is great to have this on the most basic models!

Yes it took a while but with some #PolyWatch (and a lot of effort) it came out quite well. Those scratches are all gone.

A question for owners of Casio A158W, F-91W and F-84W watches.

Aesthetics aside, is the basic LED lighting on the module 593 actually usable for how you use your watch?

So Casio fans, there is often talk about how module 593's major failing is its backlight. And yes, it is pretty weak and uneven. I too have thrown shade at it and yet, if I am totally honest I don't recall ever having struggled to read it in real life.

While in photos it often comes out looking totally unreadable, I find that with the naked eye (in the dark at night), I have always read the entire display just fine.

Is this just me?
