On the ZX Spectrum I think the Frequency Analysis of a string of text may be the easiest bit.
I cheated a bit and POKED memory addresses (still all BASIC) rather than get messy and chuck arrays of strings around.

I'm really not into proprietary audio software.

But #WaveLab's spectrometer is seriously the best I've ever seen in frequency analysis, allowing for any resolution you'd always wished for in #mastering and #mixing.

One starts to visibly understand, why subsonic frequencies don't just always need some low cut , often believed to be necessary to reach more volume (effectively causing #harshness in mids). You'll find, that subsonics may serve an audibly musical function, used to influence and shape warmth, relaxation or anger, stress, and body & depth, even air.
