DL Moody was an American evangelist. He urges millionaires to change ways, look after those who have piled up wealth for them, like the Good Samaritan.

TLDR: millionaires tend to act cruelly. This meanness, common, is wrong as per bible. It would be nice — and do you better— if you were nicer.

No revolts. No status quo. No opiate of masses. Repent. Hardly anyone can get all these right.

How can you befriend those who are down?

"I don't believe this nation has ever seen a better day to show our friendship to ward those who are down. The gulf has been becoming deeper and darker for twenty years, and now we have a good opportunity to bridge the gulf. Let us follow in the footsteps of that good Samaritan. Let the millionaires look very carefully now after the men who have been piling up their wealth for them. Follow the footsteps of this good Samaritan, and see what will come out of it. He won the esteem of every servant he had."

Samuel Reynolds House, Presbyterian medical missionary, writes on difficulties in Thailand. He laments that people ended up in slavery because of usurious rates on gambling debt.

I’ve heard progressive Christians state purpose of missionaries was to service slavery. This guy had eye on human suffering and sought to relieve its various manifestations.

How can you speak against taking advantage of other’s poor judgement?
