Several years ago, I added the Gregorian New Year to my seasonal ritual calendar. Before that, I had always celebrated Samhain as the “witches new year” because it’s the end of the growing season. But then I became acquainted with the two-headed Roman god of doorways, Janus.
As a small devotional today, I’ve written a blog about Janus and his associations with New Year’s and witchcraft.

I knit a new tarot card case this weekend. All of my decks are dedicated to Janus, the Roman god of doorways, beginnings, and omens. So I designed this with his two-headed face on one side, and his gate on the other.

I've done this general pattern a few times, it's very easy and customizable:
-Knit a long rectangle about 6 inches by 10 inches.
-Fold up to make a 4 inch pouch with a flap, and sew up the sides.
-You can add buttons or something for a closure, but I like to just fold the flap and tuck it under the cards.
