#konilo

Here's a new javascript implementation of my #ilo vm, and #pali assembler. This will not yet run #konilo as it lacks the block storage device currently, but is proving useful for testing smaller things & fixes some issues w/the original implementation. I'm hoping to expand it to be able to run the full system this summer.

I expect to wrap up work on the C# code updates on my #ilo vm for #konilo tonight or tomorrow. It's pretty much on par with the X11 C code for functionality now.

Working: framebuffer display, DEC terminal (subset used by Konilo) emulation, mouse & keyboard support. Todo: text cursor display and some code cleanups.

The initial konilo-over-irc system is running in the #retro and ##forth channels on libera.chat. This provides a full #Konilo #Forth system, with separate memory, block storage, and stacks per user, and persistence between uses. It uses a lightly modified version of the standard VM, and runs on a stock #OpenBSD system.

The initial code snapshot has been released on my patreon, and a general release will be made in the next few weeks, after further testing, cleanups, and documenting.

I've also been working on a hosted shell-based system, which should be released to my patrons within a few days, and more broadly next month.

I am currently building cores on FPGA's. offers developer libraries, but has end user applications: a wiki, editor, and catalog. There are a number of fpga boards with 2 usb ports, and a vgA port. Instant computer.

I also like that you have higher level abstractions. *combinators, *quotes and *sigils. I have to figure out what they do.

is even more interesting. 8 Cores! I am sold.

@vidak Well, you could take a copy of Konilo on MS-DOS, and move the blocks.ilo file out onto A: ...
