Spent my Easter eating a delicious Danish Kringle with Ali and then made this doodle.

I am excited, its forbidden in a few ways. One of which is the tube sizes, which are fine tuned for brightness. That big bright white 25mm tube is thin lead glass- and it would take awhile to get it as hot as the 10 mm #blacklight tube, which will be made brighter by being the narrowest, most focused part of the arc.

On a bombarder, that would suck the narrow blacklight in. It is possibly the best combination to be bombarded in terms of glass heat sensitivity- buut I have an oven, so its baking out over night so I can make this the first try guaranteed :).

Hooray for Easter! After Minneapolis, I needed a day to sleep, and I still should send some emails, but I wanted to relax, and I feel recharged, -but there is about to be so much commercial bending.

I am currently working on a larger leaded glass piece based on Gustav Klimt painting. I have never, ever before been interested in making abstract art but somehow something clicked with this one. I still need to make the frames to make it square (mainly because I need way less math that way lol) but I'm undecided between plain milk glass or sand blasting patterns on a window glass. Next week is spring vacation so I have time to think about it. #LeadGlass #GlassArt #Mirror

I took a trip down to Raleigh, NC. to drop off some neon and pick up some giant fluorescent tubing that was slated for the dumpster. This neon shop relocated to New Orleans and they left behind two pallets of tubing with diameters ranging from 15-25mm and lengths between 6 and 10 feet (2-3 meters)!

I was only able to fit about a fifth of the choicest colors into my minivan. Mega, giant tubes. Apparently these came from Atlantic City shops making neon and lighting for hotels and casinos there.

When I can get them, these big tubes cost me $20- $30 each new. Now I have hundreds of them to play with! Instead of lining cove lights and skyscrapers, the giant tubes are gonna become big cloud doodles, sculptures, and line my living room :). Like bending big leaded balloons!
