I love urban maps in classic shooters, because the zeitgeist really shines through in billboards and other signage.

I've grown a lot since then, and I have come to the galaxy-brained opinion that the BFG is a weapon of skill.

Loki's Minions CTF still has a web site up, surprisingly enough, and I adore its late '90s web design.

Another street corner hosts an ad for the "BFG-9500" that reads, "No talent? Terrible Aim? Need easy kills? Try the newbie approved BFG-9500! Coming soon! For mass-homicide nothing beats the BFG for cleaning out enemy base. A picture of the BFG is rendered of the billboard, a boxy, bulky weapon with glowing vents and what look to be exhaust pipes on its side, and a convenient carrying handle on top.

A city street stops at a dead end in front of the entrance to Blue Base (a sign denoting such opposite the entrance itself on the facing building. A brush-modelled car is parked in front of the entrance, and some newspapers are available in vending boxes off to the side.

A street corner hosts a large advert for Quake 2's Quad Damage powerup, helpfully commenting, "never attack without it!"

Another street corner hosts a fire hydrant and a couple metal trash cans. A yellow diamond-shaped sign on a brick wall reads, "Slow campers at play"
