"The Santa Barbara County Fire Department plans to conduct a prescribed burn for traning purposes at the Chamberlin Ranch, near Los Olivos, between June 19-21, 2024, depending on conditions. Prescribed fires typically burn less intensely than wildfires. Prescribed burns help prevent the spread of wildfres and can reduce impacts to watersheds that can result n soil loss and sedimentation. This burn s a Prescribed Fire to achieve training of new Santa Barbara County Fire personnel. Approximately 100 acres of sage scrub and Oak woodland will be burned. "...
