So I came up with this idea of cheap, #federated social network based only on emails.
It works kind of like a #mailing list with small change that all lists are federated and web apps capture their content which is merged together.
FUUUUUUUUUCK, setting up #procmail, #mailhog and all other shit to test it is like walking through PinkPop on molly during Electic Callboy performence.
WHY?! Why it's sooo hard to setup email correctly.

Unfortunately, it looks unmaintained, the latest release being over 3 years old.

While working on my #Laravel and #Saloon side project, I noticed that a Laravel “promotes” a new tool for local email handling. That tool is called #Mailpit and is a replacement for #Mailhog client.
Installation in #Docker is simple. It is available via brew too. The UI is familiar, and the feature set more than I need right now. It might even rival #HELO.

@goobemaster a comparable solution is #MailHog, which also comes with a nice built-in web UI and is easy to deploy, since it's distributed as a single static #GoLang binary.
Today Mailhog (https://github.com/mailhog/MailHog) bailed me out for the n-teenth time.
This is just a simple project that acts as a mail server and displays all the mail it catches. 'advance' config let you catch and release the mail.
A simple idea but incredibly effective at catching dumb errors line sending out emails from test database to live users. Which I have done.... more than once. #webdev #mail #mailhog
