Captured a quick SWR plot (0.5 per scale) on the Maldol EX-107 dual-band UHF whip on the Diamond HRKS stick-on external mount. Didn’t try any tuning - just initial performance on the back window of the car. Looks OK for 144/440 bands. Not good on 220 (as expected). Too tall for daily use without removal/reinstallation each trip.

VSWR graph for a Maldol VHF/UHF (UHF mount) whip on the HRKS rear window mount. Graph shows this is a usable 2m and 440 band antenna. This antenna at 29" tall is too long to go in and out of the garage without hitting.

Second whip tested is the Comet B-10 on the Diamond HRKS stick-on mount. Antenna is only about 12” length and comfortably clears the overhead garage door. Being much shorter, it has less Q and a little higher VSWR than the longer Maldol whip. Will be field testing this antenna on 146, 220, and 450 bands with the trio-band mobile.

Comet B-10 antenna on the HRKS mount. Shows less than 2:1 for VHF (144 MHz). May try to shorten the antenna a-bit in the future (post drive test).VSWR plot of the Comet B-10 showing a resonance in the 220 band. Interesting to see how well this works in the drive test...

next in the series of infrastructural drawings, mobile phone antennas on a mast and electric grass.

(Actually the grass is drawn from the AMP Slot 1 CPU Terminator 788555)

drawing of a mobile antenna, birds are sitting on it, birds are flying, grass on the ground that looks like the etching of a processor terminator.
