Two men, Nacho and Lalo, standing in a kitchen, meeting for the first time. First panel : Nacho standing, waiting on the side of the room. Narrative text: "I knew from the very first second." Second panel : Lalo is cooking, his back turned to Nacho. Narrative text: "I knew something was off." Third panel : Nacho's eyes, he's looking at Lalo's eyes. Narrative text: "I've never seen such eyes ever before. The singular glint of life was absent in them." Fourth panel : Lalo's eyes, staring back at Nacho. "The orbs were dark. Empty. Soulless." Narrative text in between the two last panels: "So dark. Like the night sky. Like a pot of ink. Like oil. Like—" Fifth panel : a shark framed very close, only the eye and corner of the mouth visible.A series of 3 panels showing different views of a shark. The first shows it's head, mouth open, its eye looking down at us, and its back. Second is a shark seen from the front. Third is a shark profile, its prey in its mouth, blood diluting in water. Narrative text: "I was wrong. I've seen eyes like these before. They were actually very familiar. An eerie familiarity that brings you back to one of these moments your mind tried to protect you from, burying it deep. I could only stand there, looking right into the eye of a shark. The whole beast was perfectly designed to inspire dread, all pointy angles to strike fast and efficiently, sharp teeth a promise of immense pain. A bearer of death. A killing machine."First panel : young Nacho is standing, we see his profile, and behind him we can see a bit of water reflection. Narrative text: "The longer I stared, the less afraid I became." Second panel : A shark swimming away, we don't see it's head, it's turned away from us. Narrative text: "A shark is a cold being. It doesn't care for anything. But in the end, it's no immortal creature." Third panel : "Nacho is still looking at Lalo, a hard light illuminating his face from the right. Narrative text : "The thing with the animals at the top of the food chain is..." Fourth panel : Lalo is holding out a plate with some food he prepared for Nacho "Te vas a morir." he says (meaning : "you're going to die.") in a playful manner. Fifth panel : A snake emerging from the shadows, only its head visible in soft light. Narrative text : "...they forget other predators exist."
