Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Begum Khaleda Zia is no more. The widow of the country's former president Ziaur Rahman (1936-1981), she played a pivotal role in the 1990 mass uprising that ultimately led to the toppling of the then authoritarian president Hussain Muhammad Ershad. Afterwards, for a period from 1991 to 2006, she served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh three times.
