SUPER DODGE BALL by Technos Corp Japan👾 . When I first saw this I screwed my nose up, dubious that a dodgeball game would amount to more than a gimmick. But the artwork, graphic effects, brusque Japanese smack talk and frantic gameplay soon sucked me in. I now find this a real afternoon killer... even though I think the CPU is a cheating **BLEEP** **BLEEP ** 😡 at times.

Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer, another cart in my #NeoGeoMVS collection. The game is based off the anime which is your typical 90s violence + fan service spectacle. Great graphics, sounds and music and the game difficulty sits about right with me. I only wish character animations had a few more frames as that'd really make this game pop. Still, as is it's pretty freaking fun to pull out and have a go at over a lazy weekend🕹️ .

Sengoku 3 - a stunning side-scrolling beat em up that I really need to find more time to play🕹️ . Best enjoyed with a friend (like most of these games, of course😆 .) The ninja special moves are freaking cool to watch, but some of those boss fights can really tick me off!

My other Neo Geo gaming system - the Arcade Stick Pro! Basically a plug-in USB arcade stick with built-in emulator that plays a catalog of #NeoGeo games too. Why emulate when I already have a real #NeoGeoMVS system?
Well:
1) this lets me play in another room without needing to move my main system.
2) it's pretty slick as an arcade stick for my PC.
And, most importantly
3) unlike my MVS console this has the ability to pause, save and restore games from any point!

Blazing Star is such a gorgeously crafted shooter👾 . I love the whole opening sequence and the music and sound effects in game are on point too. It always grabbed my attention at the arcades because of that. The first level lulls you into this false sense of security, making you think "Huh, this game's kind of a pushover." Then, when the second level starts it begins to slap hard💥 .

Samurai Showdown. Man, I can remember seeing this game for the first time at our local arcade and it absolutely blew my mind🤯 ! I still think it holds up today, especially the sound effects and music which ooze atmosphere. Matrimelee... Hands down the most insane fighting game I've played on #NeoGeoMVS hardware😆. It's a total assault on the senses as well as a tough challenge. I still haven't figured out who my fav character is. And half the time I still loose fights by getting overwhelmed by all the crazy stuff going on👾 !

Nightmare in the Dark is a fast and fun platform arcade game in the style of Bubble Bobble. You play as a disfigured graveyard keeper who is trying to fight off ghouls and other nasties as they attempt to steal corpses🧟‍♂️ . Love the colorful graphics and the challenge level quickly builds as you progress.

Magical Drop III is another beautiful puzzler that I love sinking time into. And, I am proud to say, after grinding away and flexing my mental muscles on this game I was recently able to acquire the solo level ranking of... 'Beginner'... 🤣

Some shots of my Galaxy Fight MVS cart. I jokingly call it the "Dark Souls of fighting games"😆 . It's unforgiving in difficulty, even on stage 1, and changing the level doesn't seem to do anything. It's frustratingly fun and I like how you can move infinitely to left & right. But to make progress I have to get unorthodox, use feints and try to trick the CPU into forced errors. Haven't beaten it yet, but I've come close! 🕹️
