So far, having signed up on notedsource.io, my experience is... nothing. I signed up. There is no interaction. There are no opportunities or even interesting bits of content. It's possible I'm using it wrong, but my best guess is that someone had an idea for a "marketplace for academics to connect with employers for work beyond academia", then they got some VC funding, spent it all on developing the site and running a bunch of ads, and now: nothing.

They hoped a bunch of academics signing up on a site would make some kind of magic happen? IDK. I don't see any evidence of employers of any kind. There are facilities (apparently) for creating academic "networks" or "work groups" or something, but there are already sites that do a better job of that, so I don't personally see any need that #notedsource fills.

They did require a fuckton of personal data just to make a profile, though (which I'm apparently only "65% complete" with).

Does anyone have any info on notedsource.io? I've been spammed on LinkedIn, and I've gone through their site, sign-up, etc. and still can't figure out exactly what they do. I thought it was a place like upwork for academics, but so far it just seems like a startup trying to compete with #researchgate--a bunch of academics and nobody else. Not sure I understand how to use the service or what it's really for.

Any info is appreciated, because it's a little mysterious to me, right now.
