There have been at least 2,032 school shootings since Columbine. These shootings have been proudly sponsored by Republicans and their gun lobby paymasters.

To simplify a bit, according to news segment on NPR yesterday, Republicans have been more motivated to protect "gun rights" than Democrats have been to vote for gun control. The exception noted was young people. Maybe young voters can help to fight gun violence or even lead the charge.
