I just shed a little tear because I am going to miss #STProdigy. There were some truly great bits of Trek in there and I like that it kept the original utopian Roddenberrian vision going.
I'd rate it below #StrangeNewWorlds but slightly above #Discovery and way, way, waaaaay above #Picard in terms of #NuTrek

The Next Generation movies are sorta similar. The characters are there, but they all act a bit different to their TV counterparts.
I assume this is the case because cinematic movies are a different beast to television and they have to be more... dunno... spectacular and dramatic to succeed?
I kinda feel the same way about #NuTrek as well.
@kcarr2015 Give #StrangeNewWorlds, #LowerDecks, #Prodigy, #Picard, and #TheOrville a good chance. Most #NuTrek has been as good as the 90s even if the seasons are pathetically short. (For real... 20 episodes a year would still avoid Chabon's "filler" nonsense.)
You definitely can skip that terrible hyper-emo fanfic you're watching right now...you won't miss anything relevant to #StarTrek. The humans don't even human in that show.
How is there no #FeelingsTrek hashtag for #NuTrek? Cuz, damn, people work through a whole lotta feelings in this new #StarTrekDiscovery.

There are a couple of episodes that try a humanize the ultra fascist Dominion, and this is one of them.
It's too bad we don't learn any more about the cultures living under the Dominion in the Gamma quadrant, just the Cardassians that joined in the Alpha quadrant and started a war, and the Dominion military wing. Missed opportunity, but maybe they show up in some of those #NuTrek shows that I don't keep up with.

#NuTrek did the same thing with the #Borg in #StarTrekPicard Season 3.
I found it a somewhat unwelcome shift in depiction, when compared to, say, the Borg from #StarTrekFirstContact.
Watched the first 2 eps of #StarTrek #Prodigy.
This will be weird to comment on as NuTrek can be a bit of a button for me. I have not seen any of the #NuTrek stuff since Beyond (liked). But so much of the others bring me to anger.
This didnt anger me, except the lens flairs [please, stop]. Tho, I did feel like I was watching #StarWars. If I was watching SW or something else, this is great. Interesting designs, good #animation, fun chars. But w/ ST in title, something felt missing.

I did watch it -- but fast forwarded through almost every single song. Except I had to go back and replay most of Chapel's song so I could see where she "broke up" with Spock.

I think I've finally figured out what annoys me about #NuTrek - it feels unbelievably safe!
The effects are fantastic and all, but I don't think one of these episodes has challenged any part of my worldview at all, and that seems kinda sad. I can see why, they're spending a boatload of cash on so few episodes that they can't afford to alienate anyone.

#AllStarTrek I don't like to compare old (or whatever the heck #StarTrekEnterprise is, 00s Trek?) to #NuTrek, but Enterprise's episodes #Afflication and #Divergence handled Klingon morphological changes WAY better than whatever that was that #StarTrekDiscovery was doing (although I did enjoy that Timekeeper Krampus look👍).
