Jogos Open BOR para Fãs de MD

A engine de criação de jogos OpenBOR é, a meu ver, parte da história continuada e do legado do Mega Drive, tendo sido criada a partir do jogo Beats of Rage, este sendo uma reimaginação da engine de Streets of Rage, uma das franquias mais aclamadas do Megão. Sendo assim, e considerando que muitas franquias de MD tiveram projetos utilizando essa ferramenta, nada mais justo do que listar aqui alguns interessantes. E já comenta abaixo se já jogou algum OpenBOR.

Beats of Rage

A começar pelo que, bem, começou tudo. Lançado em 2003, o jogo que deu origem à engine era um Streets of Rage com personagens da franquia The King of Fighters renomeados. Foi feito pela equipe Senile Team. O jogo acabou fazendo muito sucesso e sendo portado para várias plataformas como Dreamcast, PS2, PSP e Wii. A facilidade de fazer modificações em BoR levou muitos mods a serem feitos e um outro time, kirby2000, obteve o código-fonte e licença do time original e continuou o projeto, com o nome de OpenBOR. Depois de alguns novos desenvolvimentos tivemos o OpenBOR que conhecemos hoje, com muitas das limitações que tinha antes eliminadas. Beats of Rage de vez em quando recebe fangames baseados nele, como Beats of Rage Remix Rhythm of Destruction e Beats of Rage Remix Deluxe Edition.

Inspirado por Spiderman and Venom: Maximum Carnage, beat ‘em up multiplataforma que contava com Venom e Homem-Aranha (mas só permitia 1 jogador), foi feito pelo desenvolvedor brasileiro ZVitor. O mod adiciona multiplayer, muitos personagens jogáveis extras (19 no total, mais desbloqueáveis), adição também dos inimigos da continuação Separation Anxiety e um novo chefe (o Sexteto Sinistro). Outra opção é o Maximum Carnage Returns.

Art of Fighting – Beats of Rage Remix III

O jogo de luta da SNK, que teve port para MD, agora transformado em um belt scroller. Outros projetos inspirados pela franquia são: Art of Fighting Kids e Art of Fighting Trouble in Southtown.

Streets of Rage

O jogo inspirador e influente que deu origem a isso tudo não apenas viveu através de Beats of Rage, como também reviveu, em vários projetos de fãs que serviram como continuações não-oficiais da popular franquia de beat ‘em ups. Jogos como Streets of Rage XXX (não é o que o nome sugere!), Bare Knuckle – Next Generation e Bare Knuckle VACUUM. Outros incluem: Bare Knuckle VI, Bare Knuckle V, Streets of Rage X, Streets of Rage 4 by dawd, Streets of Rage 2X, Streets of Rage Z2, Streets of Rage Z3, Bare Knuckle III Yesterday Once More, Rage of the Streets, Shiva & Lisa 1, 2 e 3 e Streets of Rage Legacy.

Double Dragon Genesis Final Cut

A versão MD de Double Dragon foi refeita e melhorada por uma equipe.

Fatal Fury ReBout 1 e 2

Fatal Fury foi outra franquia transformada em beat ‘em up. Outra opção é o Fatal Fury Final.

Golden Axe

Claro que a franquia de hack ‘n slash da Sega não podia ficar de fora, tendo muitos lançamentos, como: Golden Axe Curse of Death Adder 3.0, Golden Axe Myth, Golden Axe Remake, Golden Axe Genesis, Golden Axe Legend e Golden Axe Returns.
