Also based on my reading of history, people often undevalued having ingots and metals. For example the first group of settlers to greenland spent most of their money on fancy cathedrals instead of iron for tools, and when they ran out of iron for tools, they got wiped out. Only so much you can do with an antler bone. And inuit were much better adapted to getting by with bones alone.

Smelting iron and other ores is extremely energy intensive. But smithing ingots is much less so. #mram

#pcan so am thinking post fossil fuel we're gonna have to move away from petro dollar. Due to thousands of years of using silver and gold as currency, most silver and gold is now in China and India.

But we still have other metals which are semi precious and useful. Like zinc, copper, indium, nickle, magnesium, etc.

Can probably make an equvalency chart based on the abundance of elements, so can more easily figure out how many grams of nickle is worth how many grams of copper etc.

Then people could more easily trade with ingots. And more people would have ingots on hand for making stuff with.
