Has anyone thought about having a pre-podping?
YouTube does this with lives/premiers where it will notify you 30 minutes before it starts.
Just a thought I had but we can't even get the scheduled ones right, so this is probably years off. :)

@dave why does the the podping.cloud Dockerfile chekout vs COPY
?
PeerTube's podcasting 2.0 hosting support is heavily dependant on which plugins are installed
basic #PeerTube shows 4 tags
noagendatube.com with #podping and #lightning plugins has 8 tags
Adding the #podcast2 plugin takes it to 13.
cast.garden with just their #HiveTube plugin has 17 tags.
@dave What can we do to get this podcast to be scanned closer to the release time?
I've been having issues where even hours later, the index is still missing the latest episode. I usually just manually scan it when I see it is still missing.
It currently has a priority of 1. It is hosted by simplecast so no #podping :(
Example today:
Show released: Tue, 5 Mar 2024 00:54:27 +0000
Dashboard last scan: 2024-03-04, 07:21:33
@EastSideTony
Did you start and stop the stream multiple times? That's all from the #PodPing plugin so i dunno how that works.
I'm about to jump into the world of podping!
If I want to send a ping that I updated my episode with a new transcript or set of chapters, is it as simple as sending a GET request to podping.cloud?
I'm reading up on https://github.com/Podcastindex-org/podping.cloud and wasn't sure if I need to host my own backend or not.
Are there any hot shot or learning web front end devs looking for an interesting visualization to show off with?
I have so many ideas of cool visualizations around the continuous stream of podcasts on #podping.

Woohoo! I got my live #podping provided by @podcastaddict
#NoAgenda is LIVE!
Thanks @dave. I figure there’s no need for me to do things manually when I can let the robots do it. This will not only publish new posts, but will apply edits I’ve made to show notes and transcripts. I can do the work once on my #podcast host and then consume the results from my rss feed in near real time by way of #podping
Version 1 of my #podcast post generator is live, and was used to generate the post below! It reads the podcast’s rss feed, generates the #hugo front matter, fills in the bits for #Buzzsprout’s episode player, inserts the show notes’ html from the content:encoded tag, and then pulls down the linked html of the transcript and inserts it.
Next up: trigger this parser via #podping and try using a tabbed view for the show notes & transcript.

These are the economics of running the message bus for Podcasting 2.0. #podping

Fantastic point on valuations here by @taskmaster4450 on Hive.
You can't use the metrics of corporations to value a protocol on a blockchain.
Great shout out for #podping too. https://fountain.fm/episode/12901190475
Where is the webpage specifically about #Podping and its benefits?
Anyone know of any examples of triggering a GitHub Action based on particular #Podping events? Alternatively, anyone know of some simple examples of a basic Podping app listener app I could run on a VPS? I could use such an app to do the listening and trigger the GH Action when appropriate. My end goal is to use Podping events from my podcast to trigger a build of my website so that the page for a new episode is automatically published to it.
@AntennaPod apparently is the second-biggest app polling the No Agenda feed (2.6k), after Podcast Addict (13k).

@RobK If for Focus stuff, then I suggest great caution picking a hosting provider. For P2.0 features in the provided feed for _your_ organization, I recommend Buzzsprout or Libsyn. Libsyn doesn't support #Podping or #LIT, yet. But their advanced mode lets you add _any_ additional RSS tags to your feed. So you can manually support _any_ P2.0 feature long before Libsyn builds a form for it.
I'll contact you privately about the _other_ concern.
What kind of stats would anybody like from Podping? Frequency of publication numbers of feeds etc?
I've got 2.5 months of podpings. But I may go back further. Everything is in a Mongodb and I can mine it quite quickly if I can figure out what anybody wants. #podping #pingslurp
@brianoflondon gotcha. I was misinterpreting what I observed you talking about doing as something better suited to automated monitoring or acceptance testing, but now better understand. I’m excited about what #Podping can do (and is doing) and am glad you and others are putting in the effort.
