I really love jim pinto’s praxis games for one shot story games, but I really wish I could get an actual play on the internet to be able to show people the magic of the game.

Been helping proofread City of Masks, jim’s long overdue mystery Kickstarter project. I think it’s the best setting he’s ever created. It makes me want to LARP again, it would be a great setting for one.

A mysterious city cut off from everything where the inhabitants all wear masks. The status quo hasn’t changed in centuries. But of course the PCs might think they can change that.

Doing final proof pass on postworld games jim pinto’s Snickersnee. He describes it as a minimalist fantasy rpg, but at 48 pages I’d call it rules-light. It’s a trait based system, designed for low “level” play.

I expect we’ll have it finished up and published in the next couple days.

I’m curious what people think of it.

I guess I should link to the actual game. Protocol is a GMless system for one-shot Rpgs. Holy Diver is one scenario based on the works of Ronnie James Dio. Real heavy metal fantasy feel.

I ended up playing Maven, the dream of the other characters, lover to one, mother to the other two, and a Neon Knight.

Losing a game of Dominare. It’s an under rated game, but mostly because the official release screwed up the design. But I’m playing with jim pinto, the designer, and his corrections make it a brutal cut throat influence game.

A guy asked about GMless games in an Rpg Zine facebook group I’m in. I wish I was surprised at some of the hostile and rude responses. I get it that GMless isn’t to everyone’s taste, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t role-playing games.

Anyway, on a positive note, what are your favorite GMless games?

Mine is definitely Praxis Black Monk. It’s a bit dark and weird, but I’ve really enjoyed every time I’ve had a chance to play it.

I’m weirdly excited about Dolmenwood. Not that I know if I’ll ever run it. But it’s the sort of thing I’d like to make, taking an old school light game as a framework and building something interesting on top of it.

But I don’t know what project I’m most interested in.

Although right now I’m working on making OSE stats for Blood Warrens, so that’s good practice.
