The Ploopy headphones have become my daily drivers but I just don’t want to give up the desk real estate they require…
So I printed them a permanent residence.
Practical print today: A pair of handles for pulling the bedding boxes out of our chicken coop. The old galvanized boxes rotted out and the new ones are just plain squares which makes them super hard to remove if someone’s knocked them in just a hair too far.
These snap on and allow removal and installation. Added m3 screw holes and a heatsert hole on the back but I am not sure whether I’ll actually use them.
#3dprinting project for the weekend. Little box with hinge and clasp. Bought a package of hobby knife blade refills and the crappy plastic box they came in didn't stay closed. Thought it would be good practice in #FreeCAD to put this together. Followed a tutorial video for most of it, making a few changes. I had to file the hinges a bit so they would fit. Probably one more draft would be perfect, but this is good enough for this exercise.

And a #practicalprint to round out the evening. Original is on the left in the first pic, first draft is in the middle, and final version is on the right. V1 needed a couple minor adjustments, and had the sticking out "foot" on the wrong side. V2 is perfect. Pic 3 is before with the original part, pic 4 is after with the new one installed.
I like these magnetic USB tips but didn’t like how they stick together. Came up with a little 3D printed holder so they press fit and won’t fall out. Sharing cad files if anyone wants to make https://www.printables.com/model/387044-magnetic-usb-tips-holder #3dprinting #practicalprint
I thought my slider had 1/4" screws to enable tripod use - I must have dreamed it. Anyhow, support pieces arrived this week and after 30 min of CAD in #Fusion360 and 2h wait for my #3Dprinter to finish off the brackets, I can support my motorised slider properly. Fits like a glove too.
