I've tried to find the original artist (this is a high quality meme after all), but couldn't. Let me know if you're more lucky than me!

And as well as the sex tourists and grifters, there will be well meaning but unwittingly devastating individuals who wish to abandon the modern and live as they do, the Prime Directive must be enforced!
If the Galactic Federation weren't zapping every sex tourist and grifter the Galaxy trying to get to us imagine how even more fucked we would be!
(Seriously though, Space is big and that's why They aren't here. It's VERY big)
Please spare the Sentinelese from the existential horror of Contact
Enforce the Prime Directive with lethality!
I don't know how they enforced the Prime Directive in Star Trek where starships don't seem hard to come by but maybe here on Earth we could enforce it...lethally?
At least for 'Influencers' .....who are prime 'B' Ark material and won't be missed....
Dear space aliens,
Look, I know you're only here to fuel up, commune with the whales, and maybe have a giggle over the idiot humans, but I'd really appreciate it if you'd forget The Prime Directive this one time and teach us how to be civilized. Maybe less self-destructive. Thanks.
@Rasta Also, #PrimeDirective, save as many people as possible.
DIstracted by side boob and butt cheek on another paradise planet, young Wesley accidentally breaks a law and is to be put to death.
Is ignorance of the law a defense? Wouldnβt the #PrimeDirective stop us from visiting this planet? Isn't the injustice that we don't provide #healthcare to all people as a right and not that Mario's brother was radicalized by dealing with the US heath "care" system? Murder is wrong, and a crime -- what of justice?
There seems to be a lot of confusion about the gatekeeping criteria for first contact and Starfleet's Prime Directive. Allowing contact only when a species develops warp drive is not about them achieving some threshold of maturity or technological sophistication that would mean they are somehow "ready" to be contacted and deal with the reality of living in a galaxy full of starfaring alien civilizations.
The reason that achieving warp drive is the checkpoint for contact is that there's no longer any way to avoid it. As soon as a species gets warp drive, they will be out among the stars and will soon encounter alien civilizations. There's no point in trying to keep them isolated when they can just fly to another star and meet aliens there.
So, in my interpretation, the first contact rule is entirely pragmatic, and not based on whether a civilization is "ready" for contact. When it's obvious contact will happen one way or another, that's when you should step in and do it under controlled circumstances.
@littlemiao And thusly, #Kirk deftly avoided infection on Miri and permitted Landru to continue its rule of the Archons.
Unfortunately, when attacked by Vaal of Gamma Trianguli VI on stardate 3715.3, he was forced to sacrifice himself and the entire crew of the #USSEnterprise to avoid a violation of the #PrimeDirective.
The remaining 34 #TOS episodes went on to revolve around Akuta and his leadership of the Feeders of Vaal.

@argv_minus_one that episode is an interesting exploration of the shades of grey in the #PrimeDirective. A small section of the population know about Starfleet. Now Pike chooses to reveal the Enterprise and its technology to everyone in an effort to prevent Armageddon. Later we see a concerted effort to understand the Enterprise school children putting up drawings of the ship. This could lead to religious fervour, with the ship as an icon and Pike as the prophet/Messiah. This cultural pollution could itself lead to a different Armageddon.
Was Pike right to very visibly but earnestly interfere at the tipping point? Arguably yes.
I'd really like to see that planet revisited.
I find myself rather annoyed with all the instances of βbut that is/would be a violation of the #PrimeDirective!β in situations where interference has already happened and someone wants to further intervene to try to mitigate the resulting damage.
See, for example, the first episode of #StarTrekStrangeNewWorlds. The crisis is the direct result of Starfleet's actions. Showing up and saying βhi, we're those aliens you saw; please don't blow yourselves upβ is not a PD violation.
I have an idea for a #StarTrek anthology series:
"Prime Directive"
One or two episode stories about all the places where the #PrimeDirective was broken.
New actors for each story and rotating directors.
See how the cultures were affected by their interactions with Kirk et al.
Both historically and currently, given the penchant of some countries to invade, interfere with or meddle in the affairs of other countries, I can appreciate where #GeneRoddenberry , the creator of #StarTrek , got the idea for the #PrimeDirective :

Our most elaborate, deepest-diving, most interesting video essay so far is Trekspertise's 'Rethinking The Prime Directive.'
It is a complete re-examination of #startrek's most important rule and how that rule might be unfortunately based on some old school, racist philosophies.
