And, earlier in the evening, may have seen a woman (who was standing immediately to my left at the time) get her nose broken.
There were two douche-waffles fucking around in the pit. The pit had expanded to right near where the woman was standing. Douche-waffle #1 decides to stop being actively in the pit, withdrawing to the pit's edge. He was standing immediately in front of a dude who was standing immediately in front of the woman. Douche-waffle #2 moves to face Douche-waffle #1, but a pace or two back. Douche-waffle #2 then hops in the air and does a double-foot kick to Douche-waffle #1's chest. Douche-waffle #1 either wasn't ready for the kick or was just too small/weak to ever be ready for hit. He goes flying backwards into the guy behind him, who, in turn goes flying back, head-first, into the nose of the woman. Instantly blood every fucking where.
Douche-waffle #1 and Douche-waffle #2 kept doing this stupid double-kick thing several times throughout the evening. Not once was Douche-waffle #1 able to fully absorb Douche-waffle #2's kick, but at least the other incidents I saw were in the middle of the pit, so there were no more casualties. Also, at no point did I see Douche-waffle #1 do the same thing to Douche-waffle #2. Dunno if it's because he didn't have the dexterity to attempt it or if he knew it wasn't an appropriate thing to be doing at all let alone where Douche-waffle #2 had first done it.
That fuckery was one of a couple things that about brought me to the point of throwing fists at asshats. While I weigh north of 260lbs, most people that don't know me think I weigh at least 50lbs less than I do. A few people that were running around the pit discovered, "oh: I _can't_ actually move that guy", ending up in a heap, instead, when they hit the brick wall that is me (when I don't feel like yielding).
Wife had commented that last night's pit was "mean". I've been doing pits since the late 80s, so, I always compare "today" to my teens and twenties. By comparison to a pit at a late-80s or 90s DIY show, last night's pit was tame. But, for a "coed" pit at an #EDM show (I don't care if it was #Riddim), some peoples activities were inappropriate.
Side note: if you think that you need to wear a boxing mouth-guard go into a pit at an EDM show, you are 90% likely to be an utter toolbag.
