Someone made a recording of the switchover.
"KCA 860 is permanently signing off."
Channel 6 (Area C) has gone encrypted as has channels 8 (warrant info) and 9 (talk-around). All that's left is some miscellaneous channels and citywide.
That's it. End of an era.
I'd like to thank @farewell_ladmin for hosting the BPD Broadcastify feed all these years.
Channel 6 is beginning the process. All units switching to channel 1.
"All Area D units operating on Channel 1 may now switch to Channel 5 Zone A"
All that's left is Channel 6 (Area C) which is South Boston and Dorchester.
Per reports, Channel 5 (Area D) and Channel 7 (Talk-Around) have switched.
All units on channel 5 switching to channel 1.
"All Area E units on Channel 1 (Citywide) should switch to Channel 4 Zone A"
Someone on channel 5 asking if radio shop is monitoring the channel.
Per RadioReference and Scan NE forums, channel 4 has switched.
Looks like channel 2 and 3 of BPD have encrypted. Sounds like channel 4 is next. Lots of officers switching to channel 1 (the citywide channel).

The Maryland Transportation Authority Police apparently noticed the ship losing power and rushed to block off traffic before the ship hit.
They also noted there was a work crew on the bridge and looks like they made initial notifications to try and warn the foreman of the crew. Sadly, they obviously weren't successful per scanner traffic.
