Damn. This review of Scrawl's career is amazing. Stephanie Burt is apparently really good at this music writing thing.

What do you get when the band playing punk rock is a bunch of women just... tired? you get Scrawl.

Fun fact: in grad school at OSU I had an office for a year or two in the Horseshoe (the football stadium), which is apparently where Scrawl met and began playing together in college, 10-15 years earlier; there used to be dorms in the multi-story spaces under the seats.

@alexshendi I don't believe so, since Dock and such uses direct serial. See also the #Scrawl #PT100 #AppleNewton package requirements:

"Any modem that works with the Newton will work with PT100. If necessary, make sure you have the correct modem enabler installed and selected.

Obviously, you will need to have access to a service to connect to, and, if you intend to use the NIE, a service provider capable of SLIP or PPP access."

We’re still on a break from posting spotlights on albums from our 1001 Other Albums list, but I’m stressed and sad, and therefore I need a little list-making therapy. And so, in honor of the late great Steve Albini who suddenly left us this week, here is a (possibly incomplete) list of the albums from The List that he had a part in, in one way or another:
