In the language of the Selkups, a Siberian ethnic group, the word ‘palč́o’ means ‘wind’ and the word ‘palˊǯ́ö’ means ‘turd’. Both words are now associated with the Russians whose arrival brought an unpleasant ‘wind of change’ to their lives. (h/t @ksushagal)
