I told a co-worker and a couple of neighbors about the Mayor Kalloch/de Young attempted assassination and murder story and they all enjoyed learning it and agreed it was a crazy San Francisco story. It's just so very Old West but in San Francisco, with places and names we all recognize. Someone should make a movie about it.

SF Chron editor-in-chief accuses mayoral candidate of adultery. Candidate responds: "your mom runs a brothel". Enraged editor shoots candidate in the street. Twice. Wounded candidate gets elected Mayor of SF. Later, mayor’s son enters Chronicle building and shoots editor dead.

All of this really happened.

Call Your Supervisor: SF Must Fully Fund the SF Environment Department

San Francisco’s Environment Department (SFE) received < $5M in the past 3 years, and with that has brought $85M in revenues to the city,

One of those grants finances lower-income neighbors to can replace climate-damaging gas with electricity.

We must tell both the Mayor and the Board that cuts to a program that generates a massive return on investment for climate action make no sense. buff.ly/qKtmWC6

San Francisco DA Brooke Jenkins is collaborating with ICE. We have found that she uses a federal program called All Hands On Deck to make an end-run around our sanctuary status and is passing low-level offenders to ICE. This is an EMERGENCY - call your Supervisor and demand a hearing into the DA's collaboration! indivisiblesf.org/Collaborator

San Francisco, we have to keep pushing to end the 90-Day Limit on Family Shelter policy. Our Board of Supervisors failed ot pass the resolution to end it despite ALL of public comment being families traumatized by being forced out of shelters onto the street. Mayor Lurie and the Supervisors need MORE PRESSURE! #SFPol indivisiblesf.org/call-scripts

I was compelled to write up an account of the procedural breakdowns at a last night's San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee (DCCC) meeting, where bylaws and democratic norms took a back seat.

The controversial resolution urged companies like AirBnB to pay their taxes and drop their multimillion lawsuits against the city.

Help the Roxie Theater buy their building!

We’ve worked with the Mission Roxie Theater--a cultural institution since 1934--a lot this year. It hosted showings of ā€œDemocracy Noirā€ that raised money for us and they rent us our current meeting space. roxie.com/about-us/history/?mc

Now the Roxie is working to raise $7 million to buy the building it occupies.

You can help by making a one-time gift or becoming a monthly donor to the Roxie. Learn more at Forever Roxie. roxie.com/forever/?mc_cid=0dde
